A few weeks back – June 14 , 2007 to be precise I met with one of my favorite Ethiopian singers – Tsehay Yohannes. I will tell you the whole expereicne took me by surpirse. I love Tsehaye’s songs a lot especially his old works the lyrics, his gestures on stage all allow him to have this uncanny affect on the crowd. My particular liking towards Tsehaye started way back in the days- you see I practically grew up with his songs being constantly being played at home and suddnely come the 1990s and people at home rarely open his songs.
For me being a creature of habit this sudden absence was unbearable- I like to cling to routines a lot. Plus I cannot get myself to play the radio, the stereo or any type of music at home- weird right? So usually someone has to open it for me so – ergo why I love bars and pubs non-stop music, no inner debates regarding what to play or the volume of music etc etc. So, it is me an my man Tsehay we chat a little I ask him some really ridiculous question [It dawned on me that they were ridiculous after making a fool of myself] we take pictures and he autographs his new CD. Tsehay came off as a cool guy , mellow and that je ne sais quo feel about him. Anyways cheers hope you all get to meet some of the people you admire. If you want to see me at least most of me click here Sorry for blurring out my picture I also do get bouts of shyness once in a while.
